Thermo-hydraulic performance investigation of a heat exchanger tube inserted with twisted tapes modified with various twist ratio and alternate axis

چکیده

This paper presents a numerical investigation on heat transfer enhancement by using computational fluid dynamics software. The is implemented inserting twisted tape into exchanger tube. tapes with twist ratios of 4, 6 and 8 were modified alternate axis. pitch the having rotation direction such as clockwise counterclockwise are connected 90º connection angle. Water selected working turbulent flow condition corresponding to Reynolds number ranging from 5000 29000 considered in study. tube under constant flux 50 kW/m2. Numerical analysis results prove that use improves thermal performance compared smooth As ratio increased, friction loss penalty decreased. Overall determined thermohydraulic criteria (THP). highest THP value obtained 1.21 for inserted which has 4 axis between pitches at 5913
